Ingredients

  • 1 bunch asparagus woody ends trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh lemon juice for finishing
  • Grated Parmesan cheese optional

Equipment

  • Air fryer

Method

  1. Trim asparagus ends and pat dry.
  2. Toss with olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F.
  4. Arrange asparagus in a single layer in the basket.
  5. Air fry for 7–9 minutes depending on stalk thickness.
  6. Finish with lemon juice and optional Parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • Avoid using lemon juice before cooking—it can steam and soften the texture.
  • Thicker asparagus works better than thin for air frying.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container; reheat at 350°F for 2–3 minutes.
